About Damon

Thirty years at the heart of British guitar music, and now based in Tuscany

BIOGRAPHY

Born in Liverpool in 1969 to Italian parents, Damon co-founded Ocean Colour Scene. The band's breakthrough album, Moseley Shoals (1996), earned two BRIT Award nominations. Its follow-up, Marchin' Already, went straight to No.1 in the UK in 1997, displacing Oasis's Be Here Now.

Hundred Mile High City, co-written by Minchella, became the theme to Guy Ritchie's Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels.

Damon was a core member of Paul Weller's band, playing on Heliocentric, Illumination, Studio 150 and As Is Now, and on live records including Catch-Flame!. In July 2005 he delivered a standout performance on bass with The Who at Live 8.

Throughout his career, Damon has worked with a range of notable artists, including Paul McCartney, Jimmy Page, Amy Winehouse, Liam Gallagher, Noel Gallagher, Chad Smith, Primal Scream, Dr. John and many more.

Today he plays bass for Richard Ashcroft and has supported Oasis on their Live '25 world tour. Most recently, Damon headlined La Prima Estate festival in Lucca. His memoir, You'd Look Good On A Donkey: Britpop, Basslines & Bad(ish) Decisions, was published in January 2026. Damon also has a PhD in music from Birmingham University. Fun fact, Damon once played in goal for his childhood heroes, Everton FC!

The Sound

His playing comes from soul, psychedelia and classic British rock: melodic, groove-first lines on a well-worn Fender Jazz Bass through Ashdown amplification.

Damon is bringing that experience to Italian artists, producers and labels
